Solo Flight for Finn!
Cadet Flight Sergeant Finnley Sprakes has just taken the giant step of captaining an aircraft solo for the first time.
On the 25th February, Finn successfully flew his first supervised solo from Humberside Airport in a PA28 aircraft. Following completion of his 12-hour Air League scholarship last year, Finn has been self-funding weekly lessons at Humberside and working towards this significant milestone.
After 3 initial circuits with his instructor, Richard Hannigan, he was cleared to fly the final one solo! He flew a single circuit and was in charge of the aircraft for around 15 minutes, dealing with additional challenges such as commercial traffic.
He will now commence his navigation training and hopes to have completed his PPL (Private Pilot Licence) by the end of this summer.
