Our Facilities

At Halifax Barracks, we are lucky to benefit from some excellent facilities. Some of these are for the sole use of our squadron, others we share with our colleagues in the Signals Detachment of Humber & South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force and, in the case of the range, 4th Battalion, the Royal Yorkshire Regiment (Army Reserve).

The Joint Cadet Training Centre occupies the top floor of our building. The car park provides room for practicing foot drill.

The squadron commander’s office is utilised for meetings and interviews.

The squadron office is used for administrative purposes and event/lesson planning.

On the ground floor we have an indoor range, which we use for competitive target shooting with air rifles.

Three classrooms are shared between the Air and Army Cadets. One is decorated and themed by the Army Cadets, one by the Air Cadets, and the third is themed for rifle training.

The main hall provides ample space for both lectures and practical exercises.
