Isaac Attends the Ground School Instructors’ Course
Last weekend,, Isaac attended the ground school instructors’ course at the Cadet Training Centre Driffield.
The Ground School Instructors’ Course is designed to support students to deliver competent synthetic flying training, and to instruct on the theoretical elements of the RAF Air Cadets syllabus.
“It was fun being able to relax and get to know people.”
The course began at 10:30am, which started with a brief icebreaker exercise. It then shifted focus to all the rules and regulations around flying. Following this, we began to learn how to teach the lesson required to be taken before a cadet has their first flight in either a Grob Tutor or Grob Viking. After some time practicing teaching the lesson with a partner, I got my first chance to be assessed and corrected on what is incorrect. We then had a few hours to practice and socialise with people from all over the Wing. Around 5pm, I had my 2nd and final assessment which I passed and became qualified to teach.
