Project HERITAGE
This week, the squadron commander completed the early stages of Project HERITAGE, by sorting through existing photos, official communications, and completing the first digitised elements, the record of former officers commanding, and the background of Blackburn Aircraft Factory.
Project HERITAGE looks to preserve and make accessible all information of historical relevance, so that future generations may enjoy it.
Chief among this work is the process of re-commencing the preservation of activities and documentation, so that future generations will have a full record to observe.
If anyone wishes to join Project HERITAGE, please contact Flight Lieutenant Clifford-Roper-Smith.
The squadron’s heritage can be found at the top of the home page, with the officers commanding display visible here.
The history of 1324 (Hawker Blackburn) Squadron can be found here.
The history of Blackburn Aircraft Factory can be found here (source: BAE Systems).
The next step is the digitisation of existing scrap books and albums.
