Annual Formal Inspection, 2024

Last night, we were pleased to host the sector commander, Squadron Leader Steve Lewis for our annual administrative inspection.

Annual Formal Inspections are an extremely important process and a key opportunity to provide assurance that the unit is being run well and, above all, safely and in compliance with policy.

Speaking after the event, Flight Lieutenant Luke Clifford-Roper-Smith, Officer Commanding, 1324 (Hawker Blackburn) Squadron thanked the team for all their hard work:

“I’d like to thank all the staff and cadets who have supported me with the various strands of work we’ve been developing over the last few months to bring all of this together, with last night being the end of my first 5-month sprint as officer commanding.

“I think it’s safe to say the sector commander was impressed with what he found yesterday.

“Thank you. I’m very proud of all of you.”

The sector commander, Squadron Leader Steve Lewis was keen to echo the squadron commander’s comments:

“I echo your boss’ comments. A very well organised and managed squadron and pleasing to see cadet and staff numbers rising. Hopefully next time I will have more time to interact [with more cadets and staff].”

The squadron will now further refine processes in order to maintain these high standards.

Squadron Leader Steve Lewis, Sector Commander (Sector 5), leads the inspection of 1324 (Hawker Blackburn) Squadron.
